Bloomberg Speaks to Wired About Innovative 311
In an interesting Q & A session with Wired Magazine, Mike Bloomberg goes a few rounds to explain how his innovative 311 program is changing the face of local government. Are your curious about his general view on governing? In regards to technology, “Capitalism works.”
The Mayor went on to explain how positive economic incentives can be used to achieve a desired result, but only when the numbers work. As a person coming from a civic engagement background, I especially like this quote.
Wired: “People thought technology was going to revolutionize politics. It hasn’t.”
Bloomberg: “I know. That’s one of things I want my foundation to work on. People don’t know who they’re voting for; they don’t know the politicians’ qualifications. We continue to elect people who have no abilities whatsoever.”
Tip O’ the hat to James for sending the link. Have an interesting story on Mike Bloomberg? Send it in to Andrew@uniteformike.com

This exchange is promising:
Wired: So you’ll run for president?
Bloomberg: I didn’t say that. You said that.
