Mike’s Fans at SolveClimate
One of the really unique characteristics of Mike Bloomberg’s political philosophy that instead of pounding each policy question into something that fits some tired party platform, he travels the left or right side of an issue based on…get this… the logical, fact based best response. We just love that about him!
In no area is this more apparent than the Mayor’s commitment to all-things-Green~Just not what you would expect from an economic conservative. But then, Mike is pretty good with the unexpected~which is why we continue to count him in the running for the race to POTUS.
We are very happy to bring you Stacy Feldman’s blog at SolveClimate
Stacy also reports that Bloomberg is the only still not announced candidate that they are following with their policy tracker.
Why? Cause they like what he has to say about climate change~so do we!

You hear lip service about “energy independence from all the candidates nowadays but Mayor Bloomberg, along with Governor Schwartzengger of CA, are the only two US politicians actually doing something about the necessary transition of our economy from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources. Understanding the need for a carbon tax - while at the same time realizing that over 50% of our electricity comes from coal and isn’t something that we can change overnight. “Energy Indpendence” is probably the most complex problem our society faces. America needs Mike Bloomberg now.

As an aside, I just read that the Federal Government has rejected Governor Schwartzenegger’s bold greenhouse gas cutting initiative from California.
Here’s their rationale:
“Is it more effective to let each state make a decision as to how to proceed in curbing greenhouse gases? Or is it more effective to have a national strategy?”
This would be comical if it wasn’t so sad. Yeah, lets not allow California to pursue an aggressive strategy to reduce carbon emissions and force them into an inferior program. Unbelievable. A two year old would be able to tell you this is plain ridiculous.
It’s time to bring some common sense back to our government!

The Democratic controlled congress is slowing the Republican governor from making proactive policy solutions?Doesn’t that make you disgusted? Local and State leaders are really at the forefront of developing new policy solutions, espeically with climate change (I think Bloomberg and Schwartzenegger).

Jesse Ventura, while a bit of a nut, said it great once a while back. Our two-party system of government gives us one more choice than Soviet Russia. The “bipartisan” energy bill that just passed Congres is a nice start, but that’s all it is. It’s the first step to a very complex problem (It should have been done 20 years ago, but that’s beside the point). Calling it superior to the policies already enacted by Schwartzenegger in CA and Bloomberg in NY is plain ludicrous.
