The Huffington post reports “Bloomberg And Hagel Holding Regular Calls“. Another interesting excerpt comes from Doug Baily co-founder of Unity 08 regarding the buzz
“As you build a unity team, one of the things you, of course, take into consideration is what are the strengths and weakness of each person on that team… It may be that there is a member of the team that wouldn’t be a great vice president but would be great to have on the team.”
Either way, with: Hagel, McCain, Lieberman, Nunn and possibly Obama? It looks like Bloomberg may be putting together a heck of a team to gain traction!

I think that Hagel will end up being Bloomberg’s VP candidate. Lieberman probably would do it as well - but Hagel is a wiser choice to balance the ticket geographically. Obama has already stated in one of the debates that he’ll support the Dem nominee (although I can’t see him going out of his way for Hillary)
I would LOVE it if McCain would support Bloomberg. In the end though, I think he’ll stay loyal to the Republicans - even though they don’t deserve one bit of it after the hatchet job they did to him in 2000.

[…] Chuck Hagel (R-NE) has been holding regular phone calls with Mike Bloomberg. He would bring midwestern balance and modesty to the ticket. […]
