Congratulations! We’ve Hit Over 500 Signatures!

Just moments before 8:00pm on Sunday evening, Ruth Ann Boettner became the 500th person to sign the petition asking Mike Bloomberg to run for President! Congratulations to everyone for their efforts (especially the facebook group admins and fellow bloggers) to make this happen.

But folks, this is just the beginning. As more and more people get fed up with the primary contest and the lack of true choice, our movement will grow. We the people are standing up to affirm that we want real change in 2008. We are not going to sit idly by and pass up an opportunity to truly bring American government into the 21st century. We are uniting under the banner of Mike Bloomberg because we want a President who is above the partisan fray, a skilled manager, and result oriented.

Join us today, sign the petition and together - lets make history!

  1. Tom English Says:

This “trans-partisan” movement is just another attempt by the Villagers to short-circuit a desire for REAL change–withdrawal from Iraq ASAP.

That is the ONLY issue, and on that there is consensus, at least among the voters.

  2. ignatov Says:

I agree with Tom. What does Bloomberg have to say about the story below?

    NYT, May 11, 2004:

“there [Bloomberg] was yesterday, throwing in his words of support for the president’s decision to invade Iraq — promoting one of the notions that is central to the rationale for the attack, that the conflict was justified by what happened on Sept. 11.”

” ‘Let me add something to that,’ Mr. Bloomberg said after Mrs. Bush gave her defense of her husband and his decision to go to war. ‘Don’t forget that the war started not very many blocks from here.’ “

  3. Andrew MacRae Says:

I disagree with you completely. Democrats and Republicans cannot by themselves address the problems in America. We need to MOVE ON, stop the partisan bickering, and begin addressing the issues in a reasonable manner. Washington DC, is incapable of changing itself, therefore we must bring in a change agent like Mike Bloomberg

  4. Cindy Ross Says:

500 signatures pale when compared to Ron Paul’s recent one-day total of $6 million in online pledges from a lot of people donating $25 or $50. Bloomberg has been a steadfast cheerleader for the Bush administration’s foreign policy. Sorry, that just doesn’t do it for me!

  5. Andrew MacRae Says:

@ ignativ - No matter how hard you try, you cannot re-write history. The only presidential candidates that could have voted for the war resolution and did not, are Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich. This country and its elected leaders made a decision. Now this country needs to elect new leaders with sound judgment to manage the situation. Mike Bloomberg has impeccable judgment, just ask Scott Adams.

  6. Kevin Moore Says:

The war in Iraq was a mistake. Hindsight being 20/20 - of course we shouldn’t have gone in. But we are there now and like most of the major issues facing our country, the solution is complex. In the debates, all I hear is this. One side (Dems) have a required platform to “get out now” and you won’t get the nomination if you deviate from that. The other side (Reps) have a required platform to “surge, surge, surge” and (except for Paul), you won’t get the nomination if you deviate from that. Both these one-sided policies are simplistic and won’t work in the long term goal - which is stability in Iraq and the Middle East. Only an independent moderate will be able to lead the complex approach to the Middle East that is necessary right now. Bloomberg can do the job.

  7. Mark Anderson Says:

I am a disabled veteran, and I support Ron Paul. Mike Bloomberg is a re-packaged Clinton-Bush hybrid.

  8. crusader88 Says:

Mark, I disagree. MIKE BLOOMBERG is at least 10 times as bad as Bush, who at least vetoed S-CHIP expansion and ESCR. BLOOMBERG hates personal liberty (no trans fats, no cell phones in the car), is against school choice, and is a ture blue socialist. He isn’t an establishment candidate, he is the establishment.
