Unite For Mike Makes the Case for Bloomberg 2008 in New Hampshire

Bloomberg for an independent voice
I hope that all those choosing to participate in the nation’s first primary this week truly think about the status of our great nation and the partisan political labels that currently pollute it.
Never in my childhood do I seem to remember growing up with the notion that I lived in a “blue” state. Nor do I recall being raised under the impression that by simply crossing a geographic boundary, could I possibly be leaving behind a commodious, progressive society, in exchange for one populated by “ignorant,” “gun-loving hayseeds” known as the “red” state.
All stereotypes aside, it’s become increasingly popular, if not necessary over the past several years, to identify oneself as siding with one of these two cultures. However, this social war over political issues can only last so long, and as we have seen, the country is quickly becoming sick of it. “Purple” appears to be the “new” place to be.
Nevertheless, we seem to be on the fast track to nominating candidates who are reflecting anything but more partisan bickering. While Obama, Edwards, Huckabee and others may run on a campaign message of reform, their records indicate anything but more of the same. The country seems to be presented with two options: accept the status quo of electing a new politician, with a new face, and the same rhetoric, or don’t, and do something different. The latter option appears to have presented itself in the form of a maverick New York mayor, Michael Bloomberg.
Bloomberg has appeared on the political horizon like a bull in the midst. An independent voice for America, Bloomberg truly is Mr. “Purple.” Unlike anyone else in the field, Bloomberg has shown time and time again he can effectively deliver change where it is needed, bridge the political divide wherever he may encounter it, and serve the people to the best of his ability. The country doesn’t know this yet, but an independent Bloomberg run for the presidency will not be the run of Nader or Perot. With a big personality and a billion-dollar war chest, Bloomberg could very well win it all — and for the right reasons. For the first time in modern history, the candidates of the two-party establishment might just be instilled with the fear of reality.
For all these reasons and more, may Michael Bloomberg be the 44th president of the United States.

Let’s hope that Mr. Bloomberg chooses not to run. The last thing we need is someone who is arrogant enough to believe that the country needs a billionaire who has mostly given the store away to sports teams and rich real estate developers here in New York.

Well, I heard that he WAS going to turn the city over to you and me, but since we didnt have the money to sponsor the biggest Renaissance of a fallen city in the history of the US, he had to give it to people who could actually make it happen.
Go figure.

Here in New Hampshire, I am a high schol student, and many teachers here are starting to eye Bloomberg as a serious choice for president. I was talking to my school nurse about politics (I was in the process of organizing a presidential debate that never came to happen) and she mentioned that this is the first time that she is truly undecided about who she likes for president. She mentioned that Bloomberg really interested her. Later that day, I spoke to my social studies teacher for a bit about politics and he too said that Bloomberg could be someone who can do alot for this nation. He too found Bloomberg to be interesting. The city I live in is a mostly Democrat-leaning area, and to hear this means that someone, whether it’s this campaign or Bloomberg himself, is doing a good job enticing people to the Bloomberg front.
