Washington, DC Meetup a Success!
Last night we hosted the first DC area Meetup to Draft Mike Bloomberg for President. The meeting went incredibly well, and we walked away with four action items:
- We are meeting again next Wednesday at 7pm (at a venue is Rosslyn)!
- Everyone was given flyers to hand out to further promote the site!
- Everyone was asked to tell 10 people about Mike Bloomberg and the Draft efforts!
- (and) Everyone was asked to bring 1 additional person to the next meeting!
As a country we are approaching a point of no return and it is up to us to do something about it! Last night, was not only the first DC area Meetup, but it was also the first time I have organized such a meeting, and I have to admit that I was incredibly nervous. I am not an experienced campaign person, I have no presidential campaign experience. I’m just really fed up with politicial process and I want change.
In order for this grassroots effort to have a serious impact. You (reading this blog right now) will need to organize locally. It doesn’t matter what state you live in, what city you live in, or how old or experienced you are. If You do not take action - who will? If we get Meetups in all 50 states, then we have a chance. Click here for a list of Draft Michael Bloomberg groups across the country. We are here to help You make this happen jointheteam@uniteformike.com and sign the petition today!
So far there are Meetups in: Boston, Buffalo, Ocala, New York City (and another New York City), Las Vegas, and Washington D.C., Add your city to the list right now!
Unite for Change! Unite for Experience! Unite for Mike.

Well, the only way this is going to happen is if we all stand up for change!

The Bloomberg effort will also benefit tremendously by reaching out to the centrist groups/entities listed on the below link:
http://unity-usa.org/wiki/index.php?title=Centrist_organizations
By establishing a relationship to these tremendous organizations with good solid centrist ideas that could bolster our efforts. There are many more of these types of centrist entities out there, but these are good jumping off points for our efforts. Add to the list please and reach out feelers to these entities. An informed and activated citizenry is the best defense for a sustainable Republic!
The Wiki was started by several Unity08 Delegates (but not sanctioned by the Unity 08), several of us have created a wiki site and built the listing of some good Bipartisan Centrist Organizations, current Republican and Democrat Reps (and some not, but with some good Centrist ideas therein) and various research entities of many stripes for us to learn from, tap into on various issues, and leverage in our efforts here for the noble Bloomberg effort.

I respectfully disagree with Your phrasing of ” We are approaching a point of no return”. I believe that saying it that way does not put the proper amount “pressure” on People to wake up to the dangers Our Nation is truly facing! I believe We ARE at that “Point of no return” and if We, The People, do not ACT NOW, We will have wasted Our last and probably, Our BEST chance to return this Nation to what it was Supposed to be!

America gets wisdom late and at cost. I am confident/optimistic we can find our way but time waits for no one. As Churchill said, “Eventually America does the right thing, but along the way they will explore all other possibilities.” We’ve been doing a lot of “explorin’” these last 15 years or so. Now is the time to get it right with Blommie and get some solid addressing of the big nation-busting mega-issues!! No more can-kicking that the other 2 parties wallow in.
