Looking more and more like Clinton-McCain. Would the mayor run under this scenario?

As I just heard on tv, Clinton and McCain AGREE on most of the major issues… and this is what the two party system might produce? My feeling is that if McCain wins, he must fall back to the conservatives of his party, thus leaving a void in the middle… a void big enough for the little mayor from the big city…

I like John McCain - he should have been our President this past 7 years (I said goodbye to the Republican party after the SC smear job in 2000). But he’s pandering WAY too much to the far right to get this nom for my comfort.
Bloomberg’s my first choice obviously but if he decides not to run - I hope the Mayor has a nice frank discussion with McCain to move to the center or else.

McCain and Obama both pander the least and that is why I like them the most of the remaining. Both do have true political courage IMHO by their demonstrated ability and willingness to stick their necks out to tick off their respective party bases. But they still do pander a tad and Bloomberg could distinguish himself maybe by showing how much both do still. That way he could direct the campaign to where we need it to advance the country - solidly in the doable implementable political center where competency, leadership and political courage (and not pandering)can finally hold sway!
