Open Thread: What Do You Think About the State of the Union?

state_of_the_union.jpgInstead of pontificating about last night’s State of the Union address, I’d rather hear your thoughts on how we are doing as a country?

Personally, I’m sick of hearing about the unfunded tax give-away, or the “economic stimulus package.” Increasing the national debt by 150 billion dollars so that most Americans can buy a few toys, is not responsible policy. Perhaps there is a reason why Congress has a 22.5% approval rating, and President Bush only has a 34.4%?

  1. John Milligan Says:

There comes a time that you have to pay the piper for all these “feel-good” political unfunded mandates. Congress and Bush once again prove in no uncertain terms that the “can-kicking” of responsibility on our nation’s fiscal house will not occur this session or this administration. In fact they have kicked the ball further and further down the road of irresponsible fiscal profligancy! Time for Mike Bloomberg to say NO MAS!!
