Our common alliance and purpose is to build a popular citizen’s movement supporting Mike Bloomberg as our choice for President of the United States.

How can you help? It’s fun and easy!

  1. Sign the petition online. Email it to your entire address book to sign.
  2. Support the Write to Mike! Campaign by sending an email or letter! We hope to present the Mayor with thousands of letters of support.
  3. Blog Bloomberg!: Blog Bloomberg on your existing blog, the UniteforMike forums, and related newsgroups to help spread the word about Draft Bloomberg 2008 through the blogosphere. Post links to UniteforMike.com
  4. Make a contribution to our draft campaign: We are all enthusiastic volunteers, but need funds for buttons and cards, to pay for servers, Adwords, and assorted expenses. Buy a button online!
  5. Send us ideas on other ways to get involved. This is a popular citizen’s movement~your voice and participation is needed!
  6. Create a Draft Bloomberg group in your area: Meet other Bloomberg supporters in to strategize, mobilize, and plan action.
  • All you need is a place to meet. It can be a restaurant, coffee shop, meeting room at school, or your living room. Chose a time and a place, generally during the week is best. Plan hour or so in duration. We can help you publicize your local group meeting on our websites and our Facebook and MySpace groups. You can post your meeting locally on Craigslist, local bulletin boards, etc.
  • Invite local politicos, government and civic leaders to attend. If you have a local Independent Party, certainly invite them. Don’t be concerned if you only have a few people show up. It’s just important to generate awareness of what we are doing. It takes time to get a group going.
  • Let the media know that you are holding a meeting~the Press is very interested in what we are doing at Draft Bloomberg.
  • Your agenda should be open ended with an emphasis on getting the word out about the Mayor’s positions, the work he is doing, and the growing draft movement. Ask for ideas and suggestions on what activities you might schedule locally.
  • The attendees will likely have great skills and experience to draw upon.
Petition drives are always fun. We have sample petitions.
  • Speaker meetings! Ask political types in your area to speak (they rarely pass up an opportunity to talk). Start a speaker’s bureau with academics, business people, government officials, civic and social leaders.
  • You can discuss the latest news and issues from the websites. Encourage the group members to share news of the effort. Take minutes, use the meeting to plan an agenda for the next meeting, Most importantly, use the forums at UniteforMike and tell us about your meeting! Share your knowledge with the community!
